Woolworths recently announced that it would change the company name and rebrand from Woolworths Supply Chain to Primary Connect.
WHY THE CHANGE?
Woolworths believes that rebranding to Primary Connect will expand the Woolworths supply chain into a broader end-to-end supply chain that can service not only Woolworths but also more third party suppliers. Primary Connect will still be wholly owned by Woolworths.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OUR EBA?
There will be no changes to your current EBA as a result of the rebrand. Your wages, conditions and entitlements continue on as if you were still employed by Woolworths.
When we renegotiate our next EBA, we will negotiate with the same managers (if they are still working here). The only thing that may change is the name of the EBA from Woolworths to Primary Connect.
DO OUR ENTITLEMENTS CHANGE?
No. Any leave or entitlements that you have accrued continue to apply and will keep accruing without any changes. For example, if you have been working at Woolworths for 10 years and your DC will shut down in the next few years due to automation, you will still be paid a redundancy based on your length of service with Woolworths and Primary Connect.
Members who are part of the 25 year club or receive a Woolworths discount card will still retain those benefits.
WILL THERE BE ANY CHANGES FOR AGENCY MEMBERS?
There will be no changes to the agency as a result of the rebrand. Every few years, Woolworths put out a tender for agency contracts, so it may change in future but it will not change due to the rebrand to Primary Connect.
If you have any questions about the change, please speak to your UWU organiser or delegates.
