Tell SA Premier: Stop the attacks on public sector job security - United Workers Union

Premier Marshall – Don’t be a Grinch this Christmas!

United Workers Union members working across the South Australian Public Sector have had a tough year. Working on the frontline of the State’s response to Covid-19 was hard enough. Fighting to protect their job security provisions from the prying hands of an ungrateful State Government while providing this care made it even tougher.

As Premier Steven Marshall and Treasurer Rob Lucas enjoy Christmas Day at home with their families, we need to remind them that essential public sector workers will be hard at work providing care and support to vulnerable South Australians – and that these workers’ one Christmas wish will be job security.

You can send an email directly to the Premier and Treasurer with your Christmas wish.

To send, fill in your first name and last name. When you’re done, hit the generate email button and you will be able to review the email.

Text of the letter:

Dear Premier Marshall,

Essential public sector workers have been on the frontline of the Covid-19 emergency working tirelessly to ensure the continued delivery of services and helping to keep the community safe.

When Covid-19 first struck your Government rejected workers calls to rollover the Weekly Paid enterprise agreement, and now after months of negotiations, you are still shamefully in favour of attacking workers’ conditions, including job security, leaving workers and the community concerned that your Government has an intention to privatise further services.

I call on you to support public sector workers by agreeing to stop the attacks on their conditions and commit to secure jobs for essential workers now!
